About the Chef

Originally from Southern California, Chef Eric Gruber has built an impressive career in resort and club food service starting at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club following his formal professional training at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute and the Culinary Institute of America. He parlayed that experience into long-term leadership roles at the Shore Lodge and Whitetail Club in McCall, Idaho and the La Jolla Marriott where he led the opening of a $20 million dollar restaurant and banquet operation with 3 full-service restaurants, and over 30,000 square feet of event spaces. A desire to return to the mountains gave him the opportunity to create and launch the Horn and Cantle Restaurant at the Lone Mountain Ranch in Big Sky, Montana. By embracing farm-to-table Montana products and respecting the history of Rocky Mountain cuisine in a luxury lodge setting, the Lone Mountain Ranch and Horn and Cantle Restaurant became the top-rated Hotel and Restaurant in Big Sky. Chef Eric joined the SRSC team in 2022 and has quickly raised the culinary bar with an emphasis on creative and comfortable cuisine along with special event execution.
